Description:

The Special Considerations in the Pregnant Patient course is designed for surgeons, medical physicians and Integrated Health providers to provide up-to-date recommendations for the pregnant postoperative metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS) patient. This course will offer practical recommendations for the management of the post-MBS patient who has become pregnant.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss recommendations for management of the adjustable gastric band in the pregnant post- MBS patient.
  2. Provide recommendations for nutrition and vitamin/mineral supplementation for the pregnant post-MBS patient.
  3. Identify medical emergencies, diagnostic testing and treatment in the pregnant post-MBS patient.
