An Update on recent policy changes and how they affect MBS. Session Goals: The purpose of this session is to serve as a strategic planning session for advocacy efforts for 2024. It is meant to be an interactive discussion from leaders in the field of advocacy and state chapter presidents and all of those interested in advocacy efforts.
Learning Objective:

Each state chapter president should leave this session with a clear understanding of key recent policy changes and national advocacy efforts. We have several very important advocacy initiatives for the year 2024, and these efforts must be led at the state level.

Each state chapter president should leave with a plan for her or his state chapter; many of these efforts are being carried out in phases. State chapter presidents will have a very important role- understanding each phase and explaining these phases to membership as well as recruiting chapter members will be the responsibility of the chapter president. After this session, the president of each chapter will leave with knowledge of the plan, contact information for key ASMBS advocacy leaders, and information to take home and disseminate to chapter membership.

Chapter presidents will have an opportunity to raise concerns regarding key advocacy issues in his or her home state or ask for clarity on any discussed objective during the Q and A.
