Description:

This session will highlight optimization of the cardiac patient with respect to medical, surgical and anesthetic concerns. We will also discuss outcomes of MBS in patients with severe heart disease.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will understand the anesthetic considerations in this high risk patient group.
  2. Participants will be able to implement strategies in taking care of patients with severe cardiac disease and severe obesity.
  3. Participants will gain a better understanding of the impact of MBS on MACE.
